Stress

Are you stressed about work? Is a busy life style taking its toll on your stress management? Is stress management a challenge that is leaving you exhausted? Do you feel that you are an elastic band that is rapidly losing it’s elasticity? Would you like to learn new ways to manage your stress yourself? Imagine how it would feel to be stress free.

What is Stress?

Stress is our body’s natural way to deal with emergency or life threatening situations, when our fight or flight response is triggered.  In everyday life, we do not face real danger everyday, for example, how often is there a tiger at the deli counter? Instead we suffer from stress as a result of everyday activities which put us under pressure.

Stress and Fatigue:

Initially, this fight or flight response means we produce adrenalin and cortisol to respond immediately to the perceived emergency. Cortisol is an acidic substance and when we produce too much of it over a prolonged period can leave us feeling exhausted and depressed. When we are stressed we do not rest properly so our bodies cannot replace the depleted cortisol levels. When we do not rest properly we become less in control of our emotions. When we are less in control of our emotions the issues which are causing our stress seem even bigger. When we are stressed and we end up with sleeplessness or insomnia, we suffer from irritability and it can seriously affect our relationships with those around us at work and at home.

Stress and Health:

Prolonged stress and too much cortisol can lead to depression, weight gain, digestive problems, heart attacks, and even cancers because of the increased corrosive acid in the body which can corrode and damage cells within the body. Stress and Anxiety:

Stress and performance:

Because you are uptight and quick to react maybe y personal relationships are affected, maybe it is your performance at work that is suffering because your increased level of stress is making you snappy in situations where you need to be calm and professional. When your performance is affected by stress this can also affect your confidence as you struggle to cope with what you may have previously considered easy. Maybe stress is affecting your sexual performance as you are unable to switch off from the day’s events.

Stress and Medication:


Because of the anxiety and fatigue that stress can cause, GPs often prescribe anti-depressant or anti-anxiety medication for sufferers. However, this does nothing to combat the core issue which can be addressed using alternative therapies such as Hypnotherapy and EFT.

Stress Management and CBT, Hypnosis or EFT


By using CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Hypnosis and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique or Tapping Therapy) I can teach you new ways to make small changes to what you do to make big differences throughout your life and help you to relax and "switch off" the anxious feelings associated with the things in your life which cause you stress. Because you can switch off and relax your quality of sleep can improve. Because your sleep can improve, your energy levels can improve to help you feel more able to tackle everyday tasks, and be happier and healthier.
