Help with Insomnia or Lack of Sleep in Norwich, Norfolk

Do you suffer from Sleep Insomnia, Sleeplessness or Lack of Sleep?

What is Insomnia?

Insomnia is lack of sleep because of either difficulty getting to sleep in the first place or waking up in the night and having trouble getting back to sleep. Insomnia can leave sufferers feeling exhausted and unable to cope with daily life.

Why do we get Insomnia? Why Can’t I Sleep?

Insomnia can be caused by too many stimulants such as tea or coffee.  Stress can cause insomnia as we struggle to quieten our thoughts either at bedtime or if we wake during the night. A recent trauma which has not yet been processed can cause lack of sleep or sleep disorders as the busy conscious mind struggles to make sense of and process and work through the details of the event. This usually happens when we have finished our daily activity so have nothing to distract us from the mind’s processes.

Why does it matter that I cannot sleep?

When we can’t get to sleep, we cannot heal as well, we can not process efficiently and we do not repair and refresh  ready for the next day. When we can’t sleep our minds and bodies become impaired and we are less able to perform daily tasks calmly rationally and safely. If we suffer from insomnia for a long period our overall health can suffer dramatically.

Hypnotherapy or Medication?

Imagine putting yourself back in the driving seat and having full control over your Insomnia. While medication (over the counter alternative therapies or prescription pharmaceuticals) may give you a short term fix, they will not equip you with the tools you need to get a good night’s sleep every night. Insomnia really can be a thing of the past when you learn a few simple hypnosis techniques.

I cannot sleep… How can Hypnosis Help my Insomnia?

The word Hypnosis is derived from the Greek word “sleep” and while hypnosis is not the same as sleep, hypnosis can prepare the mind and body to go into a deep relaxing recuperative sleep quickly and easily. So you can regain control over your sleeplessness and “I can’t get to sleep and I am so tired all the time” can become ”I feel fantastic now I am sleeping better”.

There are some very simple and quick techniques I can help you with to relearn how to get to sleep, and if there are underlying causes for your insomnia I can help with those too through CBT, EFT and Hypnosis, depending on what is most suitable for you.
